Psychotherapy

I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. I received my Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Marywood University in August of 2009. Since this time I have worked full-time in a private practice setting, and also teach as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Scranton and Marywood University.

I specialize in the treatment of adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and also perform personality and educational assessments and evaluations.

Individual Therapy

In individual psychotherapy, a client meets one-on-one with a psychologist to discuss issues or problems they are experiencing, explore how these issues or problems are affecting various aspects of their life, and develop a treatment plan to create positive changes in the client’s life. Our initial session will be used as a way for you and I get to know each other and for me to learn about difficulties you are having and what changes you are interested in making in your life. At the end of this initial session, we will develop treatment goals to work toward and specify a timeline for these goals to be reached or reviewed.

Your therapy experience after the initial session will vary depending on the goals that we identify to work on. During the therapy process, it is likely that you and I will discuss and explore your relationships and interactions with others, sources of stress in your life, and coping and communication skills. Other areas will also be explored, although they will vary from person to person, as therapy is unique for each client.

Sessions start on the hour and are 45 minutes in length. The initial session is $150 and each following session is $110.

Couples/Marriage Therapy

In couples/marriage psychotherapy, clients meet with a psychologist to discuss problems they are having in their relationship with each other, which may include issues related to conflict resolution, communication difficulties, and/or infidelity. Our initial session will be used as a way for you and I get to know each other and for me to learn about difficulties you are having in your relationship and what changes you are interested in making in your life and relationship. At the end of this initial session, we will work together to develop treatment goals to work toward and specify a timeline for these goals to be reached or reviewed.

While couples/marriage psychotherapy is different for each couple, there are several goals which many couples often want to target, including: increasing their ability to communicate effectively with each other, increasing intimacy, decreasing fighting and arguing, and increasing their ability to express, explain, and understand their needs and their partner’s needs. Other areas will also be explored, but these areas will vary from couple to couple.

Sessions start on the hour and are 45 minutes in length. The initial session is $150 and each following session is $110.
